We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our small, dynamic kitchen team. You’ll oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, develop seasonal menus alongside management, manage rotas, stock and suppliers, and ensure the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and safety. We’re looking for someone organised, passionate about seasonal cooking and confident in leading and developing a team. In return, we offer a competitive salary, a 40-hour daytime contract, a supportive working environment and the opportunity to make a real creative impact on our bistro menu.

Sales Assistant - Menswear

Hours: 35.5 hours over 5 days, includes weekends
Contract: Full-time, permanent

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our Menswear team. You’ll provide excellent customer service, offer product advice, maintain high standards of presentation, replenish stock and support the day-to-day running of the department. We’re looking for someone approachable, reliable and confident working both independently and as part of a team, with a genuine passion for customer service and an interest in fashion. Previous retail experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Part-Time Counter Assistant - Barkers Kitchen

Hours: 5.5 hours, Sunday
Contract: Part-time, permanent

A Part-Time Counter Assistant is required for our busy Barkers Kitchen situated within our High Street Department Store. Previous experience in a similar busy establishment would be advantageous. The suitable candidate should have good communication and team working skills. Working hours will be 5.5hrs on Sundays.

Hours: 32 hours, including weekends

Contract: Part-time, permanent

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our busy team at the 1882 Bistro. You’ll provide excellent customer service, take orders, prepare high-quality coffees and speciality drinks, serve food and drinks, and help keep the bistro clean and well presented. We’re looking for someone positive, reliable and efficient who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. Weekend availability is essential, and full training will be provided. We offer a permanent contract, overtime opportunities, staff discount following a successful trial period, staff meals while on shift and ongoing support.

Weekend Chef - 1882 Café & Bistro

Hours: Every Saturday & Sunday, with additional shifts available to cover holidays, annual leave and busy seasonal periods.
Contract: Part-time, permanent

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Weekend Chef to join the kitchen team at 1882 Café & Bistro. You’ll prepare and cook fresh, high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes, maintain excellent food standards and work efficiently during busy service periods, while following all food safety and hygiene procedures. We’re looking for someone with previous chef or cook experience, a strong work ethic and a passion for quality food, who works well as part of a team. You must be available every Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility to cover additional shifts during holidays, busy periods and Christmas. With daytime service only, there are no evening shifts or late finishes.
